Website builder - Freelance

We are looking for a candidate with expertise in systems such as WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Wix and Squarespace to develop layouts and enter content. This position does not require programming skills. Light HTML and CSS experience is a plus but not necessary. We are looking for a person with a good sense of aesthetics and knowledge of best practices for presenting content on the web. Show us how you’ve made a template shine.

We are a well-established (20+ years) boutique web design firm located in the San Francisco Peninsula specializing in nonprofit and academic websites. Our long-term clients include Stanford University and the Stanford School of Medicine, UCSF, etc. We are looking to hire a freelance website builder to work on a by-project basis, develop a long-term working relationship with us, and grow with our team. Hours will vary week to week, depending on the nature of each project.

The ideal candidate has worked with content management systems and is versed in photo-editing software with an excellent eye for good design. Familiarity with information architecture/UX, SEO, accessibility, and usability guidelines is a plus. This person will work closely with our Content Director, Technical Director, and the rest of our team.

Qualifications:

BA or higher from an accredited institution
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with template-based website building software
Ability to edit images in Photoshop or similar tools
An experienced freelancer who works well independently and in a remote team environment
San Francisco Bay Area resident preferred; must be based in California
Experience with content management systems (WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Wix, and Squarespace)
Comfortable with an array of communication and project management tools (like Slack, Smartsheet, Trello, etc.) and available to meet on Zoom when needed
Some knowledge of UX, SEO, accessibility, and usability for the web is a plus
Must have reliable access to excellent internet connection and efficient hardware and software

Compensation:

Compensation is hourly and based on experience
